I'm Mara Martini and I was born in Claut, a small town in Valcellina in the province of Pordenone. I started skiing at the age of 4 and I fell in love with ski mountaineering when in 2011 the World Championships of this discipline took place in Claut. I immediately thought that one day I would have liked to run too with the blue uniform up and down, through the mountains with a pair of skis. This dream has come true four years ago when my first call in blue arrived. This sport, certainly very tiring, has given me great satisfactions and great results. The most important were the second place in the Mezzalama Trophy and the bronze medal in the World Championships. In winter I am a ski instructor, so between one lesson and another I try to carve out some time to train in order to be able to give my best to the races. It’s tiring to work and train, but if passion overcomes fatigue everything is possible.
