Bio

Kilian Fischhuber is an Austrian climber. He enjoys climbing crags, boulders and long routes, and has competed in both difficulty and bouldering competitions. Since 2005 he has dominated the World Cup bouldering scene, winning five editions including three consecutive titles. He discovered his passion for climbing in 1995 at a gym in his city before starting to climb outdoors on rock. From 1997 to 1999 he participated in youth competitions in the lead specialty. In 1999, having reached the age of sixteen, he joined the Austrian national team and started to take part in the newly-formed bouldering climbing World Cup competition.
After a year’s training, in 2003 he won his first podium position and on April 16th, 2004 his first stage victory in Erlangen. This heralded the beginning of an endless series of successes that led him to win more than any other athlete in the Bouldering World Cup: five times winner in 2005, 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2011. French climber Jerome Meyer closely follows this record with three trophies. In late 2014 he announced his retirement from the competition scene.
He now focus his activity on climbing trips and expedition.

I hardly read climbing related literature.

The mountain that's behind the mountain I can see right now.

I support the Wings for Life Academy.

Looking for new places and destinations to climb.
Route setting, coaching and teaching climbing clinics for future Austrian coaches and trainers.
Establishing and climbing projects near my home.
Repeating exceptional multi pitch sport climbs around the globe.
