Alpine Tech is at the leading edge, as an innovative clothing line that revolutionises the rules of the outdoor market

ISPO 2022: La Sportiva presents the new FW23-24 collection

For the fifty-second time, ISPO is ready to open its doors for the largest trade fair in the world. Dedicated to the sports sector, it is scheduled in Munich from 28 to 30 November 2022 and will also be starring La Sportiva, which will display all the biggest innovations of the autumn/winter 2023 collection.

From ski touring to Mountain Running®, from mountaineering to climbing, the company is presenting a wide range of products at the fair designed to meet the needs of consumers and help them push themselves beyond their comfort zones, urging them to overcome their own limits and to climb their own mountain each day.

Quality, technical standards, product durability and respect for the planet have always been distinctive pillars of the Trentino company, as well as the importance of a shared vision and looking to the future with courage despite the uncertainties that characterise our present circumstances. This is something that La Sportiva has been doing for over ninety years. Ninety-five, to be exact, and ISPO will be an opportunity to give a snapshot of how this key milestone has been achieved through a vintage-themed capsule collection that reflects the company's DNA and traditions through some key garments.

From tradition to innovation, represented by the clothing line Alpine Tech, created to guarantee all mountaineers uncompromised performance and spearheading the La Sportiva collection. The undisputed highlight is the Supercouloir GTX Pro proposal developed for modern ice and mixed climbing: hardshell jacket and trousers designed to offer extreme protection, abrasion resistance and freedom of movement during the most specialist winter activities, while the Supercouloir 1000 Down jkt features 1000cuin white down padding to ensure maximum insulation even in the harshest weather conditions, combining lightness, compressibility, and unrivalled thermal capacity.

The rest of the collection dedicates ample space to sustainability with the inclusion of mono-component garments for styles with Evo-Shell technology and those with Primaloft alike, for optimal recycling of fabrics.  Nature Down Jk is also being showcased, as La Sportiva's first biodegradable duvet which uses Amni Soul Echo materials to accelerate the degradability process of fabrics. This reflects the brand's strengthened commitment to sustainability and respect for the planet. In addition, a brand-new line of silk and wool underwear has emerged using Native Technology™ for the most demanding ski mountaineers, to maximise thermal protection and promote sweat evaporation. It will sustain mountain lovers in extremely cold climates without neglecting technical aspects and comfort.

In terms of footwear, the G-Summit boot will dominate the new collection, the ultimate new benchmark for specialist high-altitude mountaineering which can use a single product to combine maximum thermal insulation with the lightness and precision required by climbing and extreme mountaineering footwear. Satisfying the needs of athletes as they perform at high altitudes has always been an intrinsic value in La Sportiva's DNA, which has been able to count on the partnership with mountaineer Francois Cazzanelli in developing G-Summit. Thanks to the BOA® Fit System external adjustment system and the fact that it can be used with or without an inner shoe, G-Summit represents yet another step forward made by the Trentino-based company in terms of innovation, positioning itself as the most versatile and advanced product in the range.

Even within the other product categories, La Sportiva has some innovations: in the climbing world we find TC Extreme, a climbing shoe with gaiter in flexible, resistant fabric designed for use in winter and extreme conditions, and the new Katanas, an aesthetic update of one of the most loved products among La Sportiva loyalists, designed to offer versatility, comfort and extreme precision.

The Jackal II GTX model is available in the Mountain Running® range, as the GORE-TEX version of the already existing Jackal II model. It has been developed in this collection to offer an even higher degree of protection against bad weather. For mountain running enthusiasts, children are also taken care of with Bushido II JR GTX, a miniature waterproof version of the iconic Bushido.

Finally, the Skimo category also features innovations with the introduction of two new boots made in Ziano di Fiemme, the beating heart of La Sportiva production. This boot is the Stratos VI, following on from the already world champion racing boot worn by Michele Boscacci, and will be presented at the ISPO in its new version. It has a record weight of 530g (liner included) and integral gaiter for greater protection against external agents. Remaining in the competition sector, there have also been updates to Raceborgs II, the boot with Grilamid® shell and full carbon-fibre cuff. Thanks to the new ski-walk mechanism, which is even lighter and more reliable, Raceborg II enjoys top performance levels in the race segment, with a nod to even the most demanding enthusiasts looking for lightness and performance.

These new products have been developed as a result of the skills and investments that the Val di Fiemme company has put in place in recent years to maintain outstanding excellence and know-how in the ski mountaineering world.
