Growing, challenging ourselves, evolving. All this in perfect harmony with the planet. These are the goals La Sportiva strives for every day, constantly aiming for maximum quality, durability and technical performance in our products, always with an eye on the environment and its ecosystem. This challenge is translated daily into action in the Benetton R&D department through concrete and conscious choices when it comes to materials: recyclable and recycled and always ultra high-performance.
Starting from the AW23-24 season, with a close eye on sustainability, La Sportiva offers a range of garments designed with Evo Shell™ technology, 100% recycled and PFC- and PTFE-free. Three-layer shells and trousers that are eco-friendly, ultra-technical, water-resistant, and have been tested and designed in close collaboration with our athletes, in order to guarantee them, as well as any athlete, maximum performance.
For ski mountaineering, the jewels in the crown of the AW23-24 collection are:
The main technical feature of the Evo Shell™ membrane is its water resistance: our garments designed with Evo Shell membrane guarantee a resistance more than 45 thousand mm on the water column. This has never been achieved before, which means these products are able to provide unrivalled protection against bad weather, both in terms of time and intensity, without compromising on breathability. The effectiveness of these products is guaranteed by the innovative intrinsic technical characteristics of the membrane, the absence of chemicals, and the durability of the materials used.
The presence of these garments in the collection also marks an important step towards more conscious production: we intend to work towards achieving a circular economy by reintroducing fibres and materials from garments no longer in use into the production cycle. Evo Shell™ technology is seen as a novelty and is the result of constant and ambitious work to meet the needs of athletes while reducing its environmental impact. We have decided to actively support this cause by making a contribution, for every Evo Shell™ garment produced, to the Kasigau Corridor Project (“1004 · Forest protection Kasigau Wildlife Corridor”) in Kenya. This project allows these garments to be not only sustainable in terms of materials used, but also virtuous in how they are marketed: through reforestation, the company offsets the CO2 emissions caused by the production, packaging and shipping of these items.
Respect for the local area and the Planet are key aspects for La Sportiva, which continues to invest in patenting proprietary technologies, such as Evo Shell™, - and collaborates with strategic partners – such as Sympatex - who share the company's responsible and informed vision.
