Aequilibrium Talks: the new La Sportiva tour kicks off

After the success of the Aequilibrium Experiences last summer, this year La Sportiva introduces a new format, dedicated to the homonymous range of mountaineering boots, entitled “Aequilibrium Talks”, a tour conceived in collaboration with GORE-TEX as an alternative way to talk about the products and mountains through special exhibitions, fringe activities and the exclusive participation of top mountain climbers in the La Sportiva Team. 

The leading thread of each event is the concept of balance as a state that results in control of the position and movement of the body in space, a harmonious combination of opposite and opposing forces. In the world of technical mountain footwear, the search for balance between needs that are apparently in contrast, such as comfort and technicality, but also lightness and durability, is at the heart of the daily challenges of a research and development department like that of La Sportiva, which last year proposed an innovative solution to meet this need with the Aequilibrium Series mountaineering footwear range.

Designed with a GORE-TEX membrane to guarantee impermeability and breathability, the range offers 3 models with specific features, each developed to satisfy the different needs of mountaineers searching for comfort, stability and durabililty for their mountain activities.

Aquilibrium Talks kick off on 1^st June and will involve 4 countries with a total of 9 unmissable events. It begins in Bolzano and heads to Milan, Chamonix, Toulouse, Liezen, Salzburg, Kempten and Munich, before ending in Courmayeur on 17^th September.

The presence of La Sportiva and GORE-TEX staff and a special exhibition will accompany the public in discovery of the technical features of the three products in the line:

• Aequilibrium Top GTX is a high-tech, light boot with excellent performance for fast climbing on mixed terrain and for use at medium altitude. Developed using state-of-the-art technology, it is the perfect synthesis between lightness, comfort and durability.
• Aequilibrium ST GTX is an ultra-light technical hiking boot, ideal for fixed rope routes (via ferrata), trekking, crossing glaciers and on mixed terrain.
• Aequilibrium LT GTX is a technical hiking boot, ideal for backpacking and multi-day walks at high altitude.

Fringe activities will entertain the public during the day and and focus on the concept of balance. Present at the event will be performers of acro yoga, a form of acrobatic yoga based on balancing the body movements of two athletes, and stone balancing artists, who will demonstrate the activity, the aim of which is to balance stones of different sizes, shapes and weights, trying to find the point of balance between them to create a work of art.

Digital tools will support the activities planned to present the products in the Aequilibrium Series. The Aequilibrium Wall is an interative media station on which Instagram posts scroll, which have been produced by the public and the athletes involved in the tour and collected through the hashtags #foryourmountain and #AEquilibrium.

The event schedule:

• At 11.00: Aequilibrium activities
• At 19.00: Welcome aperitif
• At 19.45: Talk given by the athletes

Among the athletes, important internationally renowned names such as Alex Huber, Fabian Buhl, Heinz Zak, Jacopo Larcher and Barbara Zangerl, Roger Schaeli, Symon Welfringer and Tamara Lunger, will be present at the events. Mountain climbers of all disciplines, known for feats that have taken them to the world’s most important mountain chains, they will talk about their experiences and introduce the Aequilibrium Series line.
