GORE-TEX® WINDSTOPPER® are 100% windproof. Although materials such as microfiber, densely woven fabrics or fleece are often referred to as windproof, the light wind manages to infiltrate, causing an unpleasant feeling of cold. According to GORE® standards, a fabric is considered windproof only if its wind permeability is equal to or less than 1.0 cfm (< 5 l/m2/s). A standard that our products easily meet.The membrane present in GORE-TEX® WINDSTOPPER® products is covered with millions of pores 900 times larger than water vapor molecules, so, even if the wind does not penetrate, sweat escapes easily. In addition to GORE® membrane technology, most of these products are given a long-lasting water-repellent treatment (DWR) that penetrates the outer layer of the fibers reducing surface tension to make water droplets slip away.
