Skimo: Damiano Lenzi winner in the Individual, Michele Boscacci celebrates the gold is the Sprint and the second placement in the general ranking

Last Saturday in Prato Nevoso, the athletes competing in the ISMF world cup Individual race, had to contend with somewhat adverse weather and snow conditions. However, despite these challenging conditions Mondole Ski Alp created a race with 18 changes of technique, 8 ascents with a total vertical rise of 1700m, covering a distance of 17km.

The winner of the Senior Men's category was the favorite Damiano Lenzi. The La Sportiva ambassador grabbed the gold with a time of 01:37:04.17 , followed by Austrian Jakob Herrman (01:37:48.88 ) and in third place Matteo Eydallin (01:38:10.10).

Laetitia Roux, France continued her dominance of the women's world cup with a time of 01:24:23.93, followed by Jennifer Fiechter, Switzerland (01:25:05.32 ) and another good placing for France with Axelle Mollaret in third place (01:26:12.09) - Laetitia Roux commented that it was a technical race, and for her particularly hard after Sochi and the Pierra Menta.

La Sportiva stole the show again with the Junior Women, which saw in first position the young gun Mara Martini (01:07:17.98) and second with Giulia Murada, third place was awarded to Spain's Julia Casanovas Cuairan

Yesterday the second day of races in Prato Nevoso was all about the last Sprint competition of the season. Although very close to the ski slopes, the track also incorporated sections off piste, and was appreciated by the athletes. Giorgio Colombo, president of the local organising committee, Mondole Ski Alp, praised volunteers and teams alike for creating a great event despite the challenge of dealing with difficult weather and snow conditions.

The clear favourite to win the women's event was Laetitia Roux, France and she did not disappoint expectations, winning both the race and the Sprint speciality cup. The men's race today went to Italian Michele Boscacci, whereas his team mate Robert Antonioli took the title in the Sprint speciality cup.

La Sportiva ambassador was surprised at his own win, “ I didn't think I could do it, but I was in good condition today, I made a great time during the qualifications, and was lucky to set of first in the descent during the final. I'm really happy as this was so unexpected”

The Senior Men's race today was very close, with Boscacci crossing the line just in front of his rival Iwan Arnold from Switzerland. Third place was taken by Daniel Zugg, Austria trailing slightly behind the other two.
