ISPO 2014: Syborg makes its debut with an award!

The first official “release” of the new ski mountaineering boot SYBORG and it is already an ISPO AWARD WINNER!

At ISPO MUNICH 2014, the annual winter trade show dedicated to the outdoor sports market, La Sportiva revealed all of the new products in the Winter Mountainware 14/15 collection, including important innovations in each of the three product categories that make up the collection: winter footwear, clothing and technical gear (ski mountaineering skis and boots). All eyes were awaiting the official market debut of the new ski mountaineering boot in the performance category, "Syborg" (the S is a homage to Stratos, the company’s “top class" boot Opens external link in new windowcurrently worn by the world champion William Bon Mardion) created for ski mountaineers looking for performance at the right price:  Syborg, in fact adopts all the technology (closure system, shell, excursion) of its “big brother” from which it is inspired while making it today more accessible to a wider market. These characteristics immediately made Syborg a valid candidate for the ISPO AWARD in the ski touring sector, a prize which was gained during the first day of the show and which was officially awarded in the presence of all the Opens external link in new windowMountain Attack Team, the Austrian ski mountaineering team which next year will wear Syborg during all their competition races.   The other big novelty, this time in the technical clothing sector was the debut of the two products Opens external link in new windowThanos Down Jacket e Zelda Down Jacket: among the first in the world of outdoor clothing to use the exclusive new padding conceived by Primaloft: a hybrid between synthetic padding and certified Blue Sign down feathers.  Thanos and Zelda represent the new concept of the winter apparel line for La Sportiva: a line dedicate not only to ski mountaineering in all its forms (free, tour e race) but also to other winter sports such as hiking and ice climbing. A collection that unites necessity and versatility under the concept of Mountainware:  everything for the mountains at 360°, just like the first winter collection of the mountain running shoes created to face up to rigid winter temperatures and to allow mountain runners to keep running even during the coldest months. Because La Sportiva is today, more than ever before: "for your mountain".
