La Sportiva in pink at the Trento Sport Festival

The brand from Trentino will be the official Trento Sport Festival sponsor with the participation of climbers Angela Eiter and Angelika Reiner, holders of the world difficulty record in the women’s sector.

Ziano di Fiemme (TN) – 2018 was a year packed with sporting events for the city of Trento, which according to ISTAT, is the most active and sporty city in Italy, and so it is not by chance that RCS has chosen Trentino’s capital city to host the first Sports Festival, from 11th to 14th October, which will include a space dedicated to free climbing, a sport that has gained momentum in Italy and the rest of the world and which will also be officially included as a sport, for the first time in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

La Sportiva, always at the forefront of the diffusion of this sport, created the first dedicated footwear for climbers back in the 70s, and now returns as protagonist on this occasion by sponsoring the climbing events that will take place in piazza Maria Maggiore during the Festival. The theme of the event is  RECORDS, and La Sportiva has invited two record breaking female champions to take part in the event: guests of honour the two strongest rock climbers in the world: Italian athlete Angelika Rainer who holds the record on mixed terrain  (ice/rock) with the highest degree of difficulty in the world and Angela Eiter, Austrian climbing legend and 4 times world champion in rope climbing, 6 times winner of  Rock Master in Arco, the most iconic climbing competition in the world, and holder of the highest degree of difficulty achieved in the female sector, with her “9b” in Spain in 2017.

Other illustrious athletes of the Trentino brand will also take part in the festival.  Mountaineer Simone Moro and climber Adam Ondra have already confirmed their presence. La Sportiva, continues to produce the most well known models in its footwear range in its headquarters in Ziano di Fiemme in the Dolomites, and in 2018  the company chose to celebrate its 90th anniversary in Trento.

It is the first time that climbing has become part of a National festival that celebrates the world of sport at  360° and our company, always alongside climbers in the growth of this movement, had to be there, in the same way that we will not miss the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo where climbing will make its debut and the Italian National team will be using our products.” – says Lorenzo Delladio, CEO and President of the family run company. Sport, passion, territory: 3 key elements for La Sportiva that will be protagonists during the 4 days of sport festival in Trento.

To sum it up in a word, or better still, with a hashtag: #TrentoLaSportiva
