Join the top climbers at Milano Climbing Expo

The Italian event that brings together enthusiasts and professional climbers for workshops and vertical contests is back, sharing all the secrets and the funniest aspects of a sport that this year will debut at the Olympics in Tokyo.

The annual international sport climbing exhibition "Milano Climbing Expo" presents its third edition, which will take place as usual at the Urban Wall gym in Pero (Milan) from Friday 31 January to Saturday 1 February. An event open to enthusiasts and newcomers who will experience moments of competition, interesting workshops and debates on mountains, hiking and the relationship between sport and nature.

Everything will start on Friday evening with an important speech by the ice climbing champion Angelika Rainer and the two alpinists just came back from Manaslu, Marco Camandona and Francesco Ratti, who interviewed by journalist Valentina Graziosi will share with us the thrills of ice and high altitude. In the end Nicolò Balducci will presents his last achievement “Gondo Crack”, and Fanny Gibert will tell more about her evolution as a climber and woman.

On Saturday all the workshops will start early in the morning, ranging from training methods to gear and from physiotherapy to climbing techniques. Open to everyone also the chance to try to “para climbing” and experience the life on the portaledge.

In the afternoon, moments of competition will alternate with speeches by important climbers such as the alpinists couple Jacopo Larcher and Barbara Zangerl and the Italian Stefano Tirelli.

Saturday evening will be time for real climbing with the lead and boulder finals that will see some of the strongest climbers of the moment like Marcello Bombardi, Anak Verhoeven, Mina Markovic and Stefano Ghisolfi competing on the wall.

To enrich the already busy agenda of Milano Climbing Expo 2020 also the exciting performance of the Urban Gravity Academy dancers, showing up in a spectacular combination of dance, art and sport.
