After the successful debut of last year, the Trentino Vertical Circuit returns in 2018 for all the uphill race specialists with four stages and as many valleys of Trentino, focusing on the organizational quality and excellence of a territory able to offer particularly evocative landscapes and sceneries.
I positivi riscontri raccolti nella prima edizione hanno portato alla conferma degli eventi inseriti nella challenge, che saranno i medesimi dello scorso anno. Si inizierà domenica 27 maggio nella Valle del Chiese con il 7° Roncon Vertical, che passerà poi il testimone al doppio appuntamento del mese di luglio, sabato 8 in Val di Fiemme con l’8° Verticale del Cornon e domenica 15 luglio in Val di Pejo con la seconda edizione del Vertical Vioz. La chiusura, come avvenne lo scorso anno, spetterà alla valle del Primiero con la Rosetta Verticale, che decreterà i vincitori del circuito nella giornata di sabato 22 settembre.
I quattro comitati organizzatori hanno lavorato di comune accordo e, al pari del 2017, hanno deciso di uniformare la quota di iscrizione dei propri eventi, fissata in 25 euro per ogni gara, con la possibilità di iscriversi anche a tutte e quattro le prove del circuito al costo cumulativo di 100 euro. Per i primi 50 iscritti all'intero circuito, inoltre, ci sarà un interessante omaggio offerto dallo sponsor ufficiale della manifestazione La Sportiva, che metterà a disposizione un capo tecnico griffato “Trentino Vertical Circuit” dal valore commerciale di 100 euro. A questo proposito giova ricordare che il circuito da qualche mese si può fregiare anche di un nuovo elegante logo.
Le iscrizioni, già aperte, si inviano dal portale Endu.net: il numero massimo di concorrenti ammesso ad ogni gara è definito dai singoli comitati organizzatori. Per concorrere alle classifiche del circuito, i runner dovranno partecipare ad almeno tre delle quattro gare in programma, con assegnazione di un punteggio a seconda del piazzamento conquistato in ogni prova e premiazioni finali con un montepremi di 1500 euro per le categorie Assoluta, Under 23 e Over 50, sia al maschile sia al femminile.
La prima edizione del Trentino Vertical Circuit fu vinta dal forte giudicariese Patrick Facchini e dalla trentina di Padergnone Michela Cozzini nella categoria Assoluta, da Daniele Felicetti nella categoria Under 23 e da Giacomo Calufetti (Us Malonno) nella Over 50.
