Will start tomorrow in Katoomba the breath taking trails located in the World Heritage listed Blue Mountains National Park of Australia. Starting in 2008 as The North Face 100 and Marathon Pairs, the 50km was introduced in 2013. Ultra-Trail Australia has captivated runners locally and internationally and It has quickly grown to become one of the most talked about endurance events in Australian history. 2016 will grow the 100km and 50km events to offer even more to our runners. With the introduction of the Pace 22km, UTA951 (Furber Stairs Time Trial), A event expo and more, Ultra-Trail Australia will have something for everyone!Ultra-Trail Australia will be run over an adventure filled 5 days, it will be the biggest trail running party that Australia has ever seen! The Ultra-Trail Australia party will be an energetic and dynamic hub where runners of all abilities and their families can learn about trails, gear, nutrition, training, race strategy and more. Athletes, families and friends will shop, make connections and build relationships with other runners, coaches and brands.This will be an exciting opportunity for runners to see first hand the latest most high tech and race specific gear. They will learn about and trial nutrition and gather advice about products and training first hand from professionals, and from this year, even La Sportiva - together with AROC Sport -, will be there as official shoe sponsor of this great, epic venture. ULTRA-TRAIL AUSTRALIA 100 This is where it all started. AROC Sport searched the country for the best place to build what would be Australia’s most challenging, stunning and prestigious100km Trail running event. The breath taking trails located in the World Heritage listed Blue Mountains National Park of Australia was the obvious choice. Formally known as The North Face 100. Stunning views, lots of stairs and an elevation gain of 4,300m. ULTRA-TRAIL AUSTRALIA 50 The Ultra-Trail Australia 50 was introduced in 2013 and has quickly stepped out of the shadow of the 100km event to become an iconic event in its own right. As a shorter ultra, the 50km is a perfect race for runners taking on their first ultra. This challenging 50km course follows the second half of the 100km route through the Kedumba Valley. 2,300m of elevation gain. PACE UTA22 Starting at the iconic Queen Victoria Hospital and finishing at the atmospheric Scenic World, the Pace UTA22 will be the perfect introduction for new runners curious about trail and ultra running. This event will also offer runners the opportunity to get a taste for the ultra course. 1,200m of elevation gain. Scenic World UTA951 Ultra-Trail Australia has created this fun and inclusive time trial up the infamous Furber Stairs - the finish of the other Ultra-Trail Australia events. 951 stairs in 1km! How much burn can your legs take? There will be various opportunities to test yourself and this is open to everyone. Plus you get to finish under the official finish line at Scenic World. The entry includes a ride down the Scenic World railway - the steepest incline railway in the world. This is an opportunity for people to begin a relationship with the festival and set goals for the year ahead. INJINJI 1KM-FOR-KIDSThe Injinji 1km-4-Kids is an inclusive and fun event engaging families and facilitating community connection. This is where our runners of the future get to shine! The event honours the role of children as a valued part of the festival and allows them to experience trail running for themselves! A participatory race, each kid receives a medal and pair of Injinji socks. Hosted just prior to 100km prize giving, the Injinji 1km-4-Kids also creates an unforgettable atmosphere for the event wrap up, sponsor recognitions and presentation! For any age up to 12 years.
