Südtirol Ultra Skyrace, only 10 days missing!

Only one week missing from the fifth Südtirol Ultra Skyrace, and another champion as Georg Piazza, confirms his participation in the toughest Ultra of South Tyrol.

"I don’t want to reveal what my goal, but I can assure that it is very ambitious. Daniel Jung is a very strong competitor. We will have fun. " Georg Piazza doesn’t disclose anything, but it’s clear that he wants to being the first to across the finish line in Bolzano.

Georg Piazza, who at SUS will bring the colours of the team La Sportiva, also for this year main sponsor of the event, tested his shape a couple of weeks ago during the Bressanone Dolomiti Marathon, where he achieved an excellent second place. The Südtirol Ultra Skyrace track, however, is three times longer… "Distance does not frighten me, I'm training all year long and even in the Ultra Worlds Trail I have run for 85 kilometers, " says Georg " Technical passages like those present on the high track "Hufeisentour" are one of my strengths, and so do not frighten me. What is an absolute novelty for me is the night run. I do not know how my body will react as I'm usually used to run this kind of race in the morning. "

Georg is an extreme athlete rich in experience. In last year's Ultra Trail world championships in Portugal he placed as the best Italian (17th place) and missed a medal with the “Azzurri” Team (5th place). Another highlight of his career was the win of the Ötzi Alpin Marathon in 2016.
To know if the Italian runner will succeed in winning a trophy at the Südtirol Ultra Skyrace, we’ll have to wait a few more days ... stay tuned!
