Skyrunning World Series 2016: the champion is Tadei Pivk

For the second time in a row, the Italian ambassador La sportiva won the Skyrunning World Sereis at the Limone Skyrunning Xtreme.

Italian Tadei Pivk and American Megan Kimmel close the intense 2016 Skyrunner® World Series season, crowned Sky Series champions in Limone on Italy’s Lake Garda today.

Men’s race winner at the Limone Extreme SkyRace® was Frenchman Alexis Sevennec who stole the show with a surprise win, closing in 2h46’49”. Another surprise was second man, Briton Hector Haines, almost unknown on the skyrunning circuit, while Bulgarian Kiril Nikolov placed an excellent 3rd in the race – and the final rankings. Heading the race for the whole first part, the Italian ambassador La Sportiva Marco Moletto. The Vertical specialist surprised evrybody with his stunning performance closing as 5th.

Frenchwoman Christel Dewalle and Italian Philip Goetsch are the 2016 Vertical Champions after setting new records at the Skyrunner® World Series finals in Italy on Friday night.

Ranking leader and Vertical World Champion Dewalle was unchallenged with her only rival for the title, Laura Orgué absent. The men’s leader, Andorran Ferran Teixido, uncomfortable with the alternative course, placed 15th in the race but held on to third in the final rankings.
