WHAT IS BLUESIGN? Bluesign® is a holistic system that provides solutions in sustainable processing and manufacturing to industries and brands. Based on strict criteria, auxiliary material and services are developed to support the company in its sustainable development.
The system behind the product sign guarantees the highest degree of control to consumers and ensures that the products were manufactured with responsible use of resources and the lowest possible impact on people and the environment.

The Bluesign® SYSTEM offers solutions for manufacturers of raw materials and many other components, such as dyes or chemical auxiliary materials. Suppliers can therefore have their production processes and materials composition assessed based on the Bluesign® CRITERIA optimizing sustainability.
La Sportiva is an official Bluesign® member since 2012.
This certificates that the textile supply chain complies with the internationally recognized environmental and social criteria approved by Bluesign®.

L5 - HARD SHELL
This external layer protects against wind, rain and snow. It creates a barrier against the environment while guaranteeing superior breathability thanks to the use of high tech materials and membranes.

This product is PFC-free.

AQUAX:
A premium waterproof and breathable fabric developed to protect you from inclement weather conditions.

• WATERPROOF YET BREATHABLE
The base fabric is finished with a polyurethane (PU) resin to keep water out while releasing moisture.

• STRETCH
The PU resin is very elastic, which means the stretch of the fabric remains unaffected.

• WINDPROOF
While shutting out cold air, the PU resin helps to retain body heat.

• PREVENTS CONDENSATION FORMATION
The PU resin continuously absorbs, diffuses, and releases condensation.
