Bio

Luca Zardini also known as “Canon” (Cortina d'Ampezzo, Aug. 4th, 1972) is an Italian climber. He enjoys both difficulty competitions and crag climbing. He is the Italian climber to have won the highest number of Italian championship titles in lead climbing and he has participated in the Lead World Cup for seventeen years, gaining second place overall in 1992.
In 1991 he joined the Italian national sport climbing team, participating in seven World Championships and seven European Championships. Zardini has also competed in the World Cup, the Italian Championships and Rock Master. From 1992 to 2007 Luca was a member of the Alpine Training Centre for the Italian police force. In 1993 he joined the prestigious Scoiattoli mountaineering club in Cortina d’Ampezzo. In 1997 he became F.A.S.I National route setter, in 2001 a F.A.S.I. National coach and in 2007 a F.A.S.I. National instructor for outstanding sporting merit.
