La Sportiva Epic Ski Tour: in 2018, alpine guides available to accompany the less experienced

The Sportiva Epic Ski Tour returns with an even more “4 All” second edition. From the 8th to 11th March everyone will be able to enjoy the beauty of the Dolomites and the routes originally traced by the organizing committee, with the possibility of reserving an alpine guide for newcomers to skialp.

The event has always aimed at offering a format suitable for all participants, from those seeking adventure to the simple mountain enthusiast: "Success is realising that you have never reached the top, you can never truly say you have arrived, "says event creator Kurt Anrather.

The “La Sportiva Epic Ski Tour” is back with lots of novelties for the 2018 edition, as it becomes even more “4 All”.
The event continues with its original aim of offering a format suitable for all participants, from the professional athlete to the outdoor enthusiast: “Success comes in realising that we have never reached the top, we can never say we have arrived at the summit” says event creator Kurt Anrather.

From 8th to 11th March, everyone will be able to enjoy the beauty of the Dolomites and the routes originally proposed by the organizing committee of Alpe Cermis, Passo San Pellegrino and Passo Pordoi, which last year had to be changed slightly because of the adverse weather conditions. For its second edition, the Epic Ski Tour has introduced a new opportunity for the less experienced participants, giving them the possibility of setting off with a mountain guide who will accompany skialp ‘apprentices’ step by step for the three days of the race. For these competitors, who will not be listed in the final rankings, the rally will be a little different from the other athletes as the trails that may be considered a little too difficult and dangerous for new comers to the sport, such as the climb to Pordoi, may be reached  (if needed) by cable car from the Pass.

Route tracers have also been confirmed, Massimo Dondio will be responsible for the night hike to Cermis, a total of  9.5 km with a height gain of 750m, Thomas Zanoner with be the patron of the 10 km race with a 79 metres height gain at Passo San Pellegrino, following the paths of the Great War. The last, but not least important stage, with be traced by Oswald Santin: eight kilometres and a height gain of  980 m to the legendary Passo Pordoi. “The La Sportiva Epic Ski Tour has endless potential”, says the organizer of the Sellaronda marathon
