Epic Ski Tour starts again from Davos on December 20th

Epic Ski Tour comes with a new formula, and for its fourth edition looks beyond the Alps, with the first stage in Switzerland. Then, next appointments in Valle d'Aosta and Trentino.

We were used to an Epic Ski Tour based in Trentino, with the traditional stages in the Dolomites valleys of Fiemme and Fassa. But after the first three years of running in, also the organization of the ski mountaineering carousel dedicated to professionals and enthusiasts felt the need to change, keeping intact the formula of the three stages but changing periods and especially locations, landing for the first time in Switzerland and Valle d'Aosta (14 - 16 February), before ending in Trento on Monte Bondone from 6 to 8 March.

The first event will be held in Switzerland (Davos) from 20 to 22 December with two races and two “4All” experiences open to skimountaineering enthusiasts, featured with guided outings

The show will begin on Friday with the traditional night race, where the "pros" will have to climb up 1000 meters of elevation gain from Bolgen to Jakobshorn. Less effort will be required to those who entered the "hobby" category, dedicated to amateurs and under 21, who will face 600 meters of elevation gain on a track of 2.8 km. The last stretch, common to both categories, has a gradient of 40%, ensuring a thrilling finale for fans and competitors.

On Saturday it will be the turn of the individual race, drawn on a circular route of 11km for 1600 meters of elevation gain with start and finish in Jschalp. Also in this case there will be a reduced track for the "hobby" category subscribers that sees a development of 6km and 800mt of elevation gain.

The athletes are called to measure up to two classic tests of the discipline but as said, the event looks first of all at the amateurs who want to experience the thrill of ski mountaineering or deepen their knowledge in the company of experts thanks to its formula "4All".

To support the experience of all the beginners, there will be the Expo village where people could try La Sportiva skis and boots and then test them on field during the guided outings.

The "Testival" will be open: Friday 20 and Saturday 21 December from 10 am to 5 pm, Sunday 22 December from 10 am to 2 pm.
