Alex Honnold Italian night: “The World at the Tips of my Fingers”


Book your agenda for the next Wednesday: For the series “a tu per tu con i campioni dello sport”, La Sportiva ambassador Alex Honnold will be hosted by DF Sport Specialist in Barzanò, province of Lecco, for a special climbing night where the free solo climber will talk about his latest adventures and his future dreams.

After having hosted the ultra-runner Anotn Krupicka, the DF Sports Specialist series of events “A tu per tu con I campioni dello sport” goes on with another great athlete as protagonist of its next appointment, on Wednesday 11th of October:  the renowned rock climber and La Sportiva ambassador, Alex Honnold.

For those who didn’t know Alex “no big deal” Honnold is a 32-years old American climber, worldwide known for his historic rope-less climbs and the impressive number of speed records on really difficult routes.
By the end of 2014, Honnold achieved international fame for his free solo exploits, featured on the covers of National Geographic, New York Times Magazine and Outside. He has also co-written a best-selling memoir titled “Alone on the Wall”, started a nonprofit foundation to improve the lives of needy communities around the world and was awarded the "Piolet d'Or " 2010 for his climbing achievements. But he truly made the mark on climbing history this spring, while free soloing El Capitan, the most iconic wall in the Yosemite National Park, and maybe one of the most famous wall in the world at all. The route Honnold chose to reach the top of El Cap is “Freerider” a 2,900-foot multi pitch with grades between 5.11 and 5.12 in less than 4 hours.

The night, which titles “The world at the tips of my fingers”, will be an exclusive talk with and about Alex’s latest achievements, methods of training, his ability to control fear and his future dreams.
Starting from 20.30 at the sporting palace “Oratorio Paolo VI” in Barzanò, province of Lecco, we’ll wait for you to being part of this unique climbing event
