The circuit stops this time in Val di Fassa, in the heart of the Dolomites,
on the beautiful artificial wall of Campitello. Always numerous the
athletes attending the event here, that is the beginning of a hard period,
with four competitions in nine days. As a matter of fact, after the today's
event, in the next weekend there will be the second edition of the
"Dolomiti Climbing Master", a national invitational mini-series
of three competitions in three successive days. But let's go back to the
today's competition. Thanks to the nice sunny day in the wonderful
landscape, the event is followed by hundreds of people who crowd the place
under the wall. Without history the women's competition, because of the
absence of the veteran Luisa Iovane. Another time Jenny Lavarda shows her
superiority climbing
both routes to the top and reinforcing her position in the general
ranking. Opposite situation in the men's field, where the uncertainty
reigns and at least ten people have the possibility to reach the highest
podium step, considering also the absence of the actual best specialists,
Dino Lagni and Christian Brenna. At the end of the day a very strong
Giacomo Cominotti wins, to emphasize the appeal of the uncertainty, when
the level of everybody is high. Congratulations for the short climber of
Lecco, who wins for the first time a national competition and adds his
name to the top of the rankings. Very good as always the organization,
with a lottery at the end with rich prizes for all the competitors. Next
meeting on August 4th, in Corvara, for the first competition of the
"Dolomiti Climbing Master", afterwards in Ortisei on August 5th,
and Campitello on August 6th.
