The positive moment of sport climbing continues. In the last three years
the number of events with competitions has increased remarkably,
everywhere, to let us think that there is a new boom of the sport
phenomenon. To find a calendar so full of events we must go back eight
years, to the beginning of the Nineties, when there were a lot of
difficulty climbing competitions everywhere, although the Bouldering
competitions didn't exist, that represent today an important reality of
the international circuit. A come back of the climbing competitions also,
with great satisfaction of everybody. The above event has been organized
in Scheidegg, in Germany, a small town near Bregenz, not far from the
Swiss-German border. The wall was located in a private center, inside a
not longer in use sport place. Quite a few spectators, about thousand
people, and perfect organization, prize money included. Several absents,
but anyway more that decent the value of the participants. In the men's
field win for Maxim Petrenko, in front of the local favorite Christian
Bindhammer and the Swiss Simon Wandeler. In the women's field win for
Elena Choumilova, the Russian who injured her knee at the beginning of the
summer and come back in top shape for the season final. Second place for
the young Swiss Annatina Schultz, third Marietta Uhden. Great satisfaction
for the organization, they announced that they are going to repeat the
event next year, in an even most prestigious way, to attire the best
world's climbers.
