After five editions in Arco, the Mountain guides' international
championship this time changes location. The professionals of Mountain
Climbing challenge each other in Munich, on the same wall used for the
European Championship, on routes set by the same route setter, the
Austrian Stephan Fürst. They were divided in five categories. The event
starts with a qualification in flash. The best go to the semifinals and
finals, this time on sight. Another triumph for Southtyrolean Christoph
Hainz, the big champion since the first edition that means for six years
now. Competitors of the strong climber from Tyrol two old friends of the
Italian team, Leonardo Dimarino and Massimo Bal, who reached ex-equo the
second place. For the ones who don't know Leonardo, he is a Mountain Guide
of Padua, international route setter and technical responsible of the
Italian sport climbing team, while Massimo is Firefighter in Aosta and
also professional of the mountains. Behind, logically, all the others, who
are surely not few. Congratulations to the nice Christoph and appointment
for the next event, particularly to see the ones who will try to break the
hegemony of the now legendary guide from Campo Tures (BZ).
