Second Bouldering World Cup in Millau, France,
on 1-4 June 2000

After Greece it was time for Millau, small town in the French Camargue, to be the venue for the second event of the World Cup. The Spanish Pedro Pons demonstrates clearly to be in excellent shape, and to aim definitely very high regarding the win of the final title. As a matter of fact the strong Iberic champion, after the brilliant second place taken in Greece, wins with big margin the second event of the series and establishes himself at the top of the provisional general ranking. Regarding the Italian team, we must notice the remarkable effort of Lucio Giudici, placed fourth, while on the other side Christian Core complained about physical problems. In the women's field the Russian Choumilova repeats the win of the first event and seems, at least for the moment, not to have rivals regarding the conquest of the final women's title. Very good, like always, the organization and great success of spectators.
