we are, at the beginning of the vertical season 2000. The games start in
Bolzano as it happened for some years now. It's the Fiera di Bolzano that
has organized the first event of Italian circuit Coppa Italia of
difficulty. The event took place inside the Palaonda that hosted the
beautiful climbing wall of the Plastic Rock of Rovereto, during the
Leisure Time Fair. Route setters were Loris Manzana and Attilio Munari. 67
athletes took part to the Bolzano appointment, 52 men and 15 women, which
compared themselves before in the qualifications of the Open on Saturday
30, and then during the s emifinals
and finals on Sunday 31 April. Present at the start almost all the best
competition climbers, except Brenna and Alippi. At the end great win for
Dino Lagni, actual World Champion, who takes also this first Coppa Italia
competition and confirms to be still at the absolute top of the specialty.
Second place for another champion, winner of the Bouldering World Cup
1999, the policeman Christian Core of Savona. Lowest step of the Podium
for Flavio Crespi, who also recently entered the Sport Team of the Fiamme
Gialle and now is with good reason a real protagonist among the national
elite of the climbing competitors. In the women's field continues the
great duel between the veteran Luisa Iovane and the young champion Jenny
Lavarda of Schio. This time it's the Iovane to score the first point of
what promises to be a fight to the last hold, surely long and strenuous.
Positive note is the surprising third place of the 14 year old Valentina
Garavini, to confirm the value and the importance of the work made on the
Youth Team. Next meeting in Chiaravalle, on June 17
