Athletes
and artificial rock at the feet of Matterhorn; the competition took place
in Antey, Val d'Aosta to inaugurate a recently built artificial climbing
wall. The wall, in an open-air sport center, has been designed to be used
during the four season. Therefore not only climbing on artificial holds in
the good season, but also ice climbing in winter, if the weather allows,
of course. Good success of the event, with many competitors attending it,
and good weather. Uncertain and long drawn-out competition, both in the
men's and
in the women's field. Among the guys the reigning World Champion Dino
Lagni wastes time and energy for a hard clip in the key moves of the
final. Luca Zardini of Cortina manages that better, and he wins,
unexpected, the competition. Second place for Lagni who anyway,
consolidates further his leadership in the general ranking. Two completed
ascents of the women's final, where the come back of Luisa Iovane makes
the women's competition a little more interesting. And we say only "a
little", because unfortunately the superfinal doesn't take place, as
in the morning Jenny had completed the semifinal, while Luisa didn't
managed it. To notice the high quality of the organization, with rich
prizes..
