 This
year August in the Dolomites is characterised by the climbing shows. After
the July event (Campitello) with the Coppa Italia, a trial of a new
competition formula has been adopted, a national "master"
circuit, based on the combined ranking of three different competitions. On
Thursday, August 5th, the beginning of the event, in Campitello di Fassa,
unfortunately ruined by the bad weather, that prevented the regular course
of the competition.
The pouring rain obliges to postpone the finals to Saturday 7th.
On the next day it's time for Val Badia, and more precisely Corvara. This
time, despite the never missing evening thunderstorm, the competition
reaches a conclusion. After a final under the rain, win for the always
stronger Jenny Lavarda, followed by Stella Marchisio and Martina Artioli.
In the men's field first place for Christian Core, followed by Brenna and
Giupponi.
Saturday, at the beginning foreseen as rest day, is utilised for the final
of Campitello. It is again the jung Jenny Lavarda, from Vicenza, to
conquer the highest step of the podium, followed by Artioli and Marchisio.
Brenna, Zardini and Core are on the men's podium.
Third and last competition of the "Dolomites Climbing Master" in
Ortisei, Sunday. Third win
for Jenny Lavarda, who finish unbeated the circuit.
Behind her Marchiso of Turin and then, at the third place, an always more
regular Martina
Artioli. In the men's field Brenna shows the law of the strongest, above
Alberto Gnerro,
third Core.
