LA SPORTIVA FOOTBEDS
Following its philosophy of continuous research, finalized to
the technical and qualitative improvement of its products, La
Sportiva introduces the new high performance footbeds: COMFORT
and PERFORMANCE.
The new La Sportiva footbeds improve noticeably the foot comfort,
reducing sweating, dampening the impact on the ground and carrying
out a preventive function in order to avoid possible articulation
pathologies.
La Sportiva has got the worldwide exclusivity to market this
product in the outdoor and mountain world.
MAIN CHARACTERISTICS
The footbeds are made with new materials, result of studies and
long testing in the medical field.
The base is made of Airfoam®, an open cell material that
allows maximum moisture transport away from the foot. That means
a guarantee of hygiene, always dry feet, elimination of bad smelling
processes and other problems.
Airfoam® has good stabilizing capabilities and, built in
different densities, offers an immediate antishock benefit while
walking. It is made with resistant material, which maintains
constant its characteristics also after several washes.
Further, the metatarsal area (in the front) and the heel area
of the footbed feature a special antishock system, also this
one developed in exclusivity by La Sportiva, with particular
functions of energy absorption, because located in connection
with the main hard impact areas of the foot, while walking, both
in a sportive and in a traditional way.
The external coating, in direct contact with the foot, is Dri-Lex®,
a dermocompatible fabric, particularly soft and comfortable.
It consists of two layers: an hydrophobic one, in contact with
the foot, that carries perspiration away, and an hydrophilic
one, that absorbs moisture and evaporates it fast.
The fact is translated in an immediate benefit while walking,
because it reduces muscle fatiguing with better stability and
noticeable higher shock absorption for the foot.
COMFORT FOOTBED
Adopted in the mass production of the whole Nepal line (Extreme, Top and Light),
it features all the characteristics of the Airfoam® technology. The
footbed is coated with Dri-Lex®, moisture wicking material that allows
fast drying.
PERFORMANCE FOOTBED
Same characteristics of the Comfort footbed, but combined with the Superfit® technology,
that means the capability of eliminating about 70% of the negative effects
caused by the electromagnetic pollution on our organism.
WHAT IS THE ELECTROMAGNETIC POLLUTION?
The electromagnetic fields represent a kind of environmental
pollution, which has increased exponentially in the last decades.
Growing consumption of electricity, modern work environment,
always richer of electronic devices and the indiscriminate use
of mobile phones are only a few examples of the reality of the
third millennium.
The use of materials capable of filtering electromagnetic radiations
is useful to improve the efficiency of our organism. When somebody
is influenced by an electromagnetic field, the latter generates
induced currents in the human body. These currents, although
of low intensity, can interfere with both muscular movement and

The athlete performing a physical effort in particularly polluted environments,
