La Sportiva protagonist at the first Ispo China Shanghai, 14-17 March 2005
It was the German champion Boris Becker to inaugurate the first edition of Ispo China, the Chinese version of the famous International Sporting Goods Trade Show in Munich, Germany, ever since a reference point of the European and world’s sports market.
La Sportiva was present at the trade show with a booth and was also the sponsor of a climbing competition organized inside the exhibition. A very successful trade show with lots of participants, reserved to the dealers of the sector during the first three days, and open to the public on the last day. The best companies of the outdoor sector were there, willing to enter what is today the third world market, after Usa and Europe, but still has remarkable growth perspectives. Just think that the sector has increased by 95% in the last five years, going from 25,9 billion dollars to over 50 billion expected for 2006.
Ispo China 05 was the first opportunity to gather the most prestigious sports brands, to introduce them to the dealers of the Asian territory. For the Messe München, (the organizing body of the German trade show), this is also the first stage of a policy of internationalizing the Ispo exhibition project. The second stage of this project is planned in Moscow in September, where the Ispo Russia 05 will take place, the new Trade Show of sporting goods dedicated to the countries of the ex-USSR.
