Canazei (Tn), August 1, 2004
Also
this year La Sportiva is sponsor of the Dolomites Skyrace, the
prestigious appointment of mountain running, that takes place
in Canazei, in Val di Fassa, in the heart of the Dolomites.
To celebrate the event La Sportiva has realized a special version
of the Exum Ridge, the top model of the Mountain Running®
line of the company of the Trento region, featuring a particularly
high performance sticky rubber sole, that ensures optimum grip
on all terrains. The “limited edition” shoes will
be given as a gift to each participant at the end of the competition.

The competition
Dolomites Skyrace is one of the most coveted running competitions
in high elevations; this year it has reached the seventh edition
and it is part of the recently established Italian Skyrunning
circuit. The itinerary follows trails, dirty roads, talus and
snowfields, in the middle of some of the most fascinating and
exciting landscapes of the Dolomites. The start is planned in
the village of Canazei (1450 meters) and then the competitors
will climb up to Pordoi Pass (2.239 meters), a pass well known
among the mountain passionates from all the world, who drive through
it following the “Dolomites Road”, but also known
as the location of epic legs of the cycling competition “Giro
d’Italia”. From Pordoi Pass the run continues towards
the Sass Pordoi Col (2.829 meters), to reach the highest summit
of the Sella Group, Piz Boé (3.152 meters). From here downhill,
after having passed the Boé Hut, along the awesome Val
Lasties to reach at the end Canazei again. The run has a 1.702
meters elevation gain and a total length of 22 kilometers.
